1) I sent you an email, but never received a response. Why?

The answer can be one of two reasons: (A) I’m usually at least 10-11 months behind in replying to emails. So, I just haven’t gotten to yours yet; or (B) You inserted the wrong email address into your message so my reply was returned “undeliverable.”

2) Why haven't you answered my questions regarding legal advice?

I don't provide legal advice of any kind, for any reason. Whatever your issue/problem is, I suggest you contact your local county bar association and ask for a referral to an attorney who practices law in the area of your particular need/problem.

3) Who are the people in the photos on the book's back cover?

That’s my momma and daddy at the top. The other three are of me -- as a baby, and during my using years. The one with me in the green dress is the same green dress I had on behind the dumpster.

4) Why didn’t you put more pictures in the book?

I wanted readers to use their imaginations as to the characters. But, I’ve since put a “picture” link right here on my website.

5) Why does it take you so long to respond to emails?

See Answer to Question 1(A) above. Please keep in mind that my schedule is quite hectic: in addition to writing the script for the film version of APOC, traveling to promote my memoir and conduct motivational speeches, I have several other projects in the works including a possible sequel to APOC, a children's book, and related toys.

6) Why do you only respond to each person’s email once?

I receive way too many emails to maintain a constant dialog with anyone. However, I appreciate you taking the time to write to me. So, I like to reply and relay my sincere appreciation.

7) Does Cup respond to the emails personally or is an assistant doing it?

I personally respond to each and every email -- once.

8) I left you my phone number and asked you to call me, but you haven’t. Why?

I am inundated with requests like this. There’s no way I can call everyone who asks; and if I can’t say "yes" to everyone, I must say "no" to everyone. So, I do not make, nor accept, phone calls.

9) Why won’t you give me your mailing address?

I don’t accept, or read, unsolicited mail of any kind. I respond to email only, but I do not read attachments!

10) Do you have any children?

No.... Well, except for my son "Squirt" (who's actually a cat). He's spoiled rotten, and everyone swears he thinks he's human.

11) Are you married?

No. I am single, and very selective.

12) Why aren’t there any “discussion questions” posted on your site for book club members to use during their discussion sessions?

When the book (hardcover) was first published, I didn't want to add discussion questions because people tend to relate to many different parts of my life, on varied levels, and in many different ways. As a result, I wanted each person to come up with their own questions/topics for discussion about which parts of the book stood out to them, how they were touched by it, how they related to it, what they were able to get from it, etc. However, we received so many requests for discussion questions, that we have added them to the paperback. So, you can now find discussion questions in the back of the paperback edition.

13) Why aren't your speaking engagements posted on your website?

I charge for all speaking engagements. As a result, the organizations hiring me tend to have a specific audience in mind, so my presentation is not open to the public. (Hence, I can't post information about it to the public.) Sometimes, however, the hiring organization will open my speech to the public. When that happens, they will advertise my appearance in the local media. So, be sure to check your newspaper and other media outlets to see if I'm giving a public presentation in your area.

14) How much do you charge for your speeches?

The fee varies depending on locale, but will be a minimum of $6,000 (plus travel expenses). Due to be inundated with speaking requests -- all from organizations whom each serve very worthy causes -- I do not speak on a pro bono basis. I know that many schools/organizations are financially challenged. In that event, you should take the less expensive route and have your clients/members/students read my memoir, especially since many of my messages of hope and inspiration are contained therein.

15) How is your relationship with Larry now?

Larry and I are working on building a relationship. We still argue sometimes, but we talk more now than we ever have. And, there's no doubt as to our love for each other.

16) Do you ever talk to Fly?

Yes, I talk to Fly on a regular basis. He's still my favorite cousin. And he's still fine.

17) Why don't you post a picture of Fly on your website?

Fly prefers to remain anonymous. And I don't blame him. Please keep in mind that it was me, not him, who chose to break the code of silence.
