I have just finished reading "A piece of cake". i have to say, I have been inspired, at some points during reading I knelt down closed my eyes and said my own prayer. I grew up in Zimbabwe Africa but now I live in London. My eyes have ben opened through reading your book, I now understand a lot of things I did not and mostly I get perseverance, The Lord surely worked in your life and I pray he gives me strength to follow my dreams like he gave you to follow yours. God bless Cup!

Hello! I just finished reading your book 'A Piece of Cake' last night. I absolutely loved it-it was very difficult to put down. Many times I would be reading late into the night because I wanted to know what happened!
Thank you so much for sharing your story.

I just finished your book- I know, I know, I'm a little late. But I have to tell you- I already knew the ending, I already knew you were an attorney in SF. But I was still floored by where you started and where your journey took you. I don't know what to say that hasn't been said. But I still wanted you to know- I think you're an amazing, tough lady. Never stop telling your story. Also, I wonder how the foster care system has improved in CA. If at all. I used to work with foster kids and can't help but wonder how many of their stories started this way.

Cupcake, I finished your book a few days ago and have been resonating on it since. First I just want to say I am truly sorry for your loss of your mom and then all the tragedy that followed. It saddens me the lack of care and concern that children have to endure. I am amazed at the the things you accomplished in your life, yet it makes me wonder what you would have done had you not have to endure all that adversity. You truly are a person to be admired and your story is a powerful one that I believe in the right hands it may save lives. I know a woman who's life parallels your quite a bit and I intend to give her a copy. Then I will pray that she reads it and is inspired. In addition, you gave me a deeper understanding of life on many levels and your faith and love of God moved me greatly. Godspeed to you Cupcake. With love, nancy

I just read A Piece of Cake, it took me a few weeks because I had to keep putting it down to breathe! Thank you for putting all of your experiences on paper. For me it's helped to understand the similar journey of a good friend. Thank you for your courage. Love from Nik :)

Damn girl, I've thought about writing a book like yours because no one would possibly believe what I've been through. But I think you would understand. God give me the strength to go on, please, and bless you Cup (although I see you already have been!)
